“She was talking over me, in a very rude way, so as not to let me speak, and who did not even know the subject why we were chatting. But they had given her an order: Don’t let Polakis speak” argued the deputy of the official opposition party
I don’t take a single word back for what I said to Mrs. Syrengela, SYRIZA MP Pavlos Polakis said in his statements to the television cameras, referring to his intervention yesterday on the Attica television station. As Mr. Polakis said, “the dress rehearsal of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor and the ND for the flight, apart from insurance coverage in the prescription of drugs and the conduct of examinations in public structures, failed miserably. As I said from the first night, essentially what they did the day before yesterday and the whole story became, was to give characteristics of inactive AMKA to all uninsured citizens. Thus, they took out of the possibility for these fellow citizens of ours to prescribe medicines or tests even from the doctors of the public health structures”.
According to Mr. Polakis, “with the tsunami that arose from the reactions all over Greece, especially after my intervention in the evening show in Attica, they were forced like oiled mice, to take it back. So, I don’t get a single word back for what I said to Mrs. Syringela, who was talking over me, in a very rude way, so as not to let me speak, and who didn’t even know the subject why we were chatting. But they had given her an order: Don’t let Polakis speak” argued the deputy of the official opposition party.
Commenting on the postponement of the parliamentary Committee on Institutions and Transparency, “which would appoint a president and two vice-presidents, to the Assisted Reproduction Authority”, Mr. Polakis said that this happened at one o’clock in the morning, probably because there was a reaction from ND MPs, as the Mrs. Fundedaki, who was nominated for president, was vice-president during the time we were in government, either because she (Mrs. Fundedaki) was one of the drafters of the same-sex couple bill.
“What happened is unacceptable, we denounce it and we believe that there must be new leadership in the National Assisted Reproduction Authority immediately, in order to change course from what was done by its previous head, Mr. Vrachnis,” he said.
Syregela to SKAI: A sincere apology also means Mr. Polakis’ deletion – What did I say to Mr. Kasselakis
The secretary of the ND, Maria Syregela, spoke to SKAI and the Today show about the attack she received from the SYRIZA member of parliament, Pavlos Polakis, during his telephone intervention on a show on Monday night.
“It is not the first time, he has done it to other political opponents and to women in particular… Even worse to ordinary citizens”, she said, noting that many times they have condemned the behavior of Mr. Polakis.
Regarding the phone call from the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis and the apology for Mr. Polakis, Ms. Syregela said that “this apology is not sincere” emphasizing how “a sincere apology also means erasing a man who has proven many times that he only brings toxicity to the political life of the country whether he is inside the parliament or outside and he is a man who thinks that with thuggery and with “you know who I am , you’ll see what happens”, he can impose his views”.
“What I told Mr. Kasselakis is that Mr. Polakis should be removed,” he pointed out, repeating that this is not the first time this has happened. “It should concern SYRIZA itself how such people are kept within its party apparatus and at the same time it should also concern us as a society… Mr. Polakis represents the old, this “I’ll tell you what will happen” , the “don’t talk”, we have started all this and we are overcoming it”he pointed out.
Ms. Syregela noted that the very next moment, after Mr. Kasselakis’ phone call to her, Mr. Polakis “empty his leader” referring to the latter’s post where he appeared unrepentant, even saying “leave the bullshit – I don’t take back words”.
As mentioned by the secretary of the ND, “political confrontation clearly and should take place…to judge, to say our opinion but always in decent contexts and with evidence”.
