“The current elections started illegally, with a decision of the Central Electoral Commission which is illegal, and which has been appealed by the Union Party for Human Rights (KEAD). Today I will also file my own objection, as the illegal decree issued under emergency conditions by the President is as if it was issued by the Prime Minister. The lawlessness continues!”ND MEP, Fredis Beleris, said in his post.

He adds that:

“This is the time when the government needs to act in this election more than ever because it is not the fault of the voters who did not renew their IDs. Time was extremely limited, as on July 5 the decree for the election was issued, Friday after 4:00 p.m. Time for voters to renew IDs was very limited, when even the e-Albania online service had limited functionality during this period.
The government must take steps to ensure that voters exercise their right to vote. There is no pretext, no accounting support required, no cost, just as there were no obstacles in the previous elections. All the ministers are in Himarra, let them gather for once and take a decision in the interest of the people!
The government must show that it is not manipulating the will of the voters, that the transfer of voters from every socialist municipality to Himarra was not a government tactic, and that the ban, as never before, on voting with expired IDs is not done on purpose.
The government should at least keep up the pretense, as it has done so far, using “independent” institutions, to make it appear that it is not using any means to manipulate these elections!
I call my fellow citizens: Resist! Do not move away from the polling stations! Do not be afraid! Vote! Vote! Vote!
