Autopsy in the cleaning work on Kifisso carried out on Thursday morning by the regional governor of Attica, Nikos Hardaliaswho informed that they are in full progress, as they proceed to the second phase concerning the paved part of the river.

Specifically, as Mr. Hardalias pointed out, “we are together with our engineers here to start the control procedures in relation to statics, that is, to see if there are problems with the collapse of structural elements”, characterizing this project as a whole as ” particularly difficult”.

At the same time, the regional governor of Attica focused on the many problems, such as the lack of ventilation, the lack of lighting and a muddy substrate, while “we often become hostages of the weather conditions”, as he said.

“In any case, we are doing our best, we want to proceed immediately. Kifissos is only the beginning, we will move forward with Pikrodafni and Ilissos, where we need to intervene we will intervene. Despite the problems that exist, such as the well-known issues of competences and funding, we are working feverishly, composed and organized. We will do our best for the anti-flood protection,” he then underlined, while adding:

“The goal is to complete the project in October. But it has nothing to do with how ready we are. We are ready and we have alternative scenarios. The issue is the weather. If storms break out, the project will go back. In any case, the flow is slowly being restored. I remember that eight and a half kilometers had not been cleaned in decades.”
