Rumors are rife in Turkey about the resignation of the defense minister Yasar Guler. A little while ago, as reported from Istanbul by Manolis KostidisTurkish journalists reported that the secret services handed over a report to Erdoganaccording to which there are officers operating against the Turkish president.

According to the same information, the report states that 300 of the 650 students of the military school participated in this effort.

This is the class of officers who, during their graduation a few days ago, raised their swords and shouted “we are the soldiers of Kemal”.

“The purges announced by ErdoÄŸan in the military schools are causing debate”

T24 columnist Tolga Sardan writes: “The only one who has not spoken about the issue of graduates is the Minister of Defense Yasar Guler and the silence shows something. The defense minister has canceled all his appointments and is talking to almost no one. In fact, there is a strong claim that he will request his resignation from his duties, and this has been heard since the weekend.”

Naim Babourgolou, professor: “From the moment investigations began and the internal regulations of the army are being violated. It seems that the presidency does not trust the Minister of Defense who will probably resign. I report this according to the allegations and probably the Minister of Defense drew this conclusion.”

“Greece is buying F-35s to counter Turkish interests in the Eastern Mediterranean,” reports the Turkish newspaper Sabah.

“If Greece continues to militarize the islands, then Ankara may challenge their sovereignty” he notes and adds: “The Greek prime minister admits that he is investing more in defense out of fear of the Turks.

» Kyriakos Mitsotakis, one of the two architects of the improvement of relations with Ankara, still does not believe that they can solve their problems with Turkey.

Ankara has repeatedly warned its neighbor against entering an arms race with Turkey, particularly for building a military presence on disputed Aegean islands since the 1960s in violation of post-war treaties.

Greece’s purchase of F-35 fighter jets from the US and increased defense budgets are intended to counter the protection of Turkish interests in the Eastern Mediterranean. Greece says it must defend the islands against a possible attack by Turkey, but Turkish officials have said continued militarization of the islands could lead to Ankara challenging their sovereignty.

Turkish media: Erdogan and Sisi discussed EEZ and gas transport

Erai Gützluer, president of the ASAM Center for Strategic Studies: “This area is Egypt’s continental shelf. And here are the gas fields of Egypt, they are the property of Egypt. So here are the gas fields.”

Journalist: “Okay, did the Erdogan-Sisi meeting discuss the issues of gas fields, energy, common interests and cooperation?”

Gützluer: “Yes, we have information about how these issues were discussed. As our president has talked about energy cooperation. Talk about this spot. So he has to agree with Turkey. If there is any country that wants to send gas to Europe, it should agree with Turkey.
Greece and this is a nightmare for Greece.”
