His plan for a PASOK that will break with yesterday, will take initiatives to re-create the great Democratic Party, it will be open to society and will not be addressed to “chieftains” and “group leaders” and will not compromise with the established, presented the candidate president of PASOK-KINAL, Michalis Katrinis.

Speaking to a packed room at Athens Conservatorywhere he delivered his keynote speech in an enthusiastic atmosphere of his friends and supporters, Mr. Katrinis spoke of mechanisms for manipulating the polls for the election of the PASOK president, stressing that as far as he is concerned, the resounding response to these were the 14,000 signatures supporting his candidacy.

“The stake in the elections of October 6 is either a small PASOK of 13% and 15%, which will turn into a crutch for Mr. Mitsotakis, or a strong PASOK that will take the initiative to create the Great Faction” he said and added: “October 6 is the last chance for PASOK. We must transcend conventional approaches and emotional commitments that hold us back, that lead us to accept the small and easy to avoid the ordeal of the big and difficult. However, PASOK was never for the easy. We are here for the hard times.”

As Mr. Katrinis mentioned, “PASOK is in danger of being discredited by the logic of a small and medium-sized party of 13 or 15%.” which they consider normal to turn into a crutch in order to keep New Democracy in the government and Mr. Mitsotakis in the position of Prime Minister”.

“Our PASOK is the PASOK that will take initiatives to create a Great Party, a party of power that will be able to govern and will govern.

And the Great Faction will emerge with initiatives from the new PASOK leadership, the one that believes in the creation of a Great Faction that will govern independently, unyieldingly and become the bearer of a New Change”, he pointed out.

He made it clear that “we are not talking about a coalition of parties with components, but about a real and large party of power that will be created at the initiative of PASOK, with positions and political philosophy of PASOK, with an open call that will be addressed to citizens and not to “leaders” ” and ”group leaders,” with procedures of direct and participatory democracy”.

“Those who associate this initiative with their personal survival or include it in tactics, probably have not understood what is happening, they do not realize that the large democratic majority, the social opposition that crushed Mr. Mitsotakis in the European elections, has surpassed them,” he noted. Mr. Katrinis.

He then spoke of “vested financial interests who fear the Grand Faction”, pointing out that “this decadent political scene is convenient, those who want to keep party power, locked in the microcosm of a record party and those who want small and medium-sized parties, convenient to cooperate in a government with the New Democracy”.

“The Great Faction will not happen for those who want European and national resources to be shared among 5 families, the few and the powerful.

It won’t happen for those who think that government means manipulating Justice and institutions, doing whatever you want and not being accountable to anyone,” he stressed.

At the same time, he ruled out “making the Great Front an artificial fusion with SYRIZA or other forces” and emphasized that “it will include the progressive citizens, the 3.5 million citizens who abstained but also traditional ND voters who do not identify with service policies of the big financial interests, the eavesdropping, the impermissible concessions on our national issues”.

“The Great Lineup:

– It will be for the non-privileged of 2024, for those whom the Mitsotakis government pushes to the sidelines.

– It will be done for the forgotten Greek province, so that it does not have to wait for the “crumbs” that the Athenian-centric State leaves for it from time to time.

– It will be done to change the development and production model, to introduce rules in banks and funds, to stop the de-Hellenization of our economy and the transfer of wealth into foreign hands.

– It will be done so that citizens can see in practice a new public health system, with universal, quality and free services for everyone.

– It will be done to put an end to the cartels that loot the country and the income of the citizens”, he underlined.

“I believe in an open PASOK in society that will produce policy and pursue dialogue and collective functioning, that will shape its program through direct democracy processes, with organs and institutions that will work, that its leadership respects its members and friends, he is not afraid of procedures, dialogue, different opinions, votes for collective decisions.

“I am not the chosen one of systems, interests and mechanisms. I never left PASOK. Some clash words with entanglement. The autonomy of politics, however, presupposes clear and unequivocal conflict in practice. My message to all democratic citizens is one: PASOK must come forward, dare a big leap, become what the big interests don’t want”, concluded Mr. Katrinis.
