“With Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Zetta M. Makris, we connected today online with Gavdos, where the first “autonomous class” began its operation. After years, the school reopened its gates for the high school students who live on the island.

As we had promised, this year in Gavdos three teachers of basic specialties will be teaching in person. The rest of the courses will be taught digitally, through modern distance education, by teachers of the High School of Chora Sfakion.

From the next school year, the Arkios will also have an “autonomous class”, while the regulation will be extended to high school classes as well. We are thus upgrading the education provided in particularly remote areas, where the conditions for establishing an educational unit are not met.
