“The reason I’m running for his presidency SYRIZA it’s to lay back,” the presidential candidate pointed out Apostolos Gletsoswho added that “in order for the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to fall, we will all have to quickly enter the battle”.

Speaking to Mr. Gletsos said that if Stefanos Kasselakis is re-elected, “I will go home and I will not deal with politics again, at least as far as SYRIZA is concerned.” As he characteristically noted:

“Mr. Kasselakis has nothing to do with politics or the Left. The reason I supported him in the first 3 months was because we were trying to find a captain then. But I completely misjudged myself by supporting him. In fact, I went out and talked to him on a personal level. I want him to run for president though. So that everyone in the SYRIZA electoral base can see why they made a mistake in electing him last year.”

At the same time, he stated that “Stephanos’ biggest mistake is that he made a daily display of wealth and affluence from channel to channel, without any political program whatsoever. Financially, only if you add up what was given from here and there, we came out. Also, he never came to the party bodies, while it was his permanent tactic to accuse Alexis Tsipras of undermining.”

Finally, answering a related question, he did not hide his personal appreciation for Pavlos Polakis, whom, as he said, “I want him a thousand times for president”, adding, however, that he is not yet sure whether he will support him in the second round, given that he still there is no clear picture of who will be the final candidates.
