“I and the late Fofi Gennimata fought hard to unite PASOK and today be the 2nd party in the polls” said the leader of PASOK
“We have a big goal, to become a government to implement our program. I do not aim to become a government so that some old barons of PASOK or some famous people who change parties like shirts can get ministerial positions. I serve the people and the homeland”, emphasized Nikos Androulakis speaking to the ACTION 24 television station.
He responded to the criticisms he receives that he failed to give momentum to PASOK by saying that “these attitudes hurt the democratic faction and led it to the limits of the politics of survival. I and the late Fofi Gennimata fought hard to unite PASOK and today it is the 2nd party in all opinion polls. What I received is completely different, with today’s landscape in our favor and not against us. I am the only one who has defeated the Maximos system twice, publicly and institutionally”, asserted Mr. Androulakis.
He stated that he is open to the return of executives who left PASOK, however he made it clear that those who hurt it and those who made decisions based on the chair will not participate in the democratic faction.
“Some old barons of PASOK will not get ministerial positions. If I am elected, we will go to regional conferences and then we will go to an open political conference and we will invite all the social – I emphasize this – progressive forces for a deep programmatic agreement. Those who hurt the democratic faction, brought it to the limits of political survival, and are the golden sponsors of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, will not participate,” said Nikos Androulakis.
