The vision, the plan as well as the programming directions for a Greece that wants to be ahead of developments, a Greece that can play a leading role in European development, was presented by PASOK presidential candidate Anna Diamantopoulou, during the tour of Karditsa and Trikala.

In front of citizens, parliamentarians and representatives of the Local Government who responded to her call, Anna Diamantopoulou, on the occasion of the great disaster suffered by Thessaly, referred to the model of productive Greece, noting that “there are many responsibilities, the most important is that in the agricultural sector, our policies are almost non-existent. What we did 30 years ago, we are still doing today.”

He proposed a different approach regarding the rehabilitation of the affected areas, pointing out that “Thessaly should be a pilot European program for the regeneration and restructuring of an area affected by climate crisis phenomena” while underlining the need for large projects to proceed with fast track procedures, as in model of Olympic projects.

Referring to the internal party procedures, Anna Diamantopoulou analyzed her social democratic proposal. “PASOK is a party that belongs to the field of Social Democracy. Historically it has incorporated the forces of the Left and the forces of the Center. PASOK has always been the great center-left in the country. This is what we will do today too” he said and “closed the door” of the Movement to the scenarios of political collaborations: “Not to the components, not to the partnerships. An autonomous and strong PASOK that will go to the elections alone. What we all want…Neither with SYRIZA, nor with New Democracy, we alone can achieve the goal of being the first party in the elections. And we can be.” But he also referred to all those pathologies that acted as a weight for PASOK, saying “not a party that works with groups” and noted: [Θέλουμε] “a party belonging to society. We have a lot of experience. To be able to have everyone’s participation. We want such a party again.”

He underlined the profile of his new leader by repeating that “we are not simply voting for the president of PASOK. We will vote for the next prime minister of the country. And he can be a social democrat.”
