As everything shows, the pre-election campaign to claim the leadership of SYRIZA has started.

Two executives are already vying for the presidency, with Pavlos Polakis officially submitting his candidacy to the party’s secretariat and Sokratis Famellos, announcing via video that he is also entering the succession “race”.

Pavlos Polakis arrived at 1:00 p.m. in Koumoundrourou where he submitted his candidacy to party secretary Rania Sviggou.

His candidacy, as he said, is signed by 32 party officials, with a prerequisite of 30 signatures.

A total of 31 members of the KE sign the nomination, while another signature from MEP Nikos Pappa completes the relevant documents. He also submitted his “Pothen Esches”, “the last one that has been submitted to the Parliament of 2023 for use in ’22, as defined by the decision of the KE”.

In his statements, he called on his opponents to do the same as, as he said, “the country needs a strong opposition to the Mitsotakis government”.

Earlier, the pre-announcement of the candidacy of Sokratis Famellos was made, who in a video on X announced the reasons why he is running for the leadership of SYRIZA.

“Let’s all go together! With a sense of responsibility towards the history of the Left, I am running for President of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance. In this effort I ask you all to participate. To be proud of our party again! But also why the day after SYRIZA-P.S. it concerns the whole society!” mentions in X.
