The Panteleimon police station was visited by the former president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, on the occasion of the death of the foreigner.

Stefanos Kasselakis spoke about the need for transparency in police stations and raised the issue of police modernization.

In the statement he posted on social media, he says:

All our fellow citizens and all our fellow human beings, regardless of their nationality, their sex, their color, are equal.

And we must respect human life in the same way always. I visited the AT Ag. Panteleimon and I really have a lot of questions about what happened there. I do not think that I have received clear answers and I hope that they will be given immediately by the investigation that is being carried out. It is not possible for someone to be in a detention center alone and come out dead from a police station in Greece in 2024. There should be transparency about what exactly happens inside the police stations. But here is a broader issue of modernizing the police. Continuous education and training, the involvement of psychologists and experts are just some of the parameters to build a relationship of trust between the police and citizens. Because security is the right of all citizens in a modern, European Greece».
