About the internal party polls that are in the final stretch ahead of Sunday, October 6, he spoke to and to “Mismatched» its president PASOK Nikos Androulakis.

Initially, referring to the stakes of the elections, Mr. Androulakis stated that “the elections are being held because there is a dilemma: or will we continue on the same path that brought PASOK back to the center of political developments, which is no longer a supplementary party, with a presence within and outside the Parliament against the ND, or everything we have achieved will be called into question”. In fact, he said that the party was not only not crushed, but “broke the millstones of bipartisanship” for the third time after 1977 and 2012.

“The best are ahead of us and the difficult behind us. We achieved great victories in self-government, we are a party which is second in the entire region together with Thessaloniki and now we have our color on the political map. PASOK can now elect a prime minister, something that if we had said that a few years ago, our political opponents would have laughed”, as he said, expressing the belief that the party can beat ND as the force of major political changes.

In fact, when asked about the possible lack of co-candidates for presidents who come from Athens A because they were “preparing for PASOK’s internal party elections”, Mr. Androulakis commented that this will be judged by the people of the faction, “when the third worst percentage in 60 districts of Athens is the first of Greece”. At the same time, he reiterated that he never showed political arrogance or passion for power, which is proven by the fact that he immediately went to elections when asked.

“We need a serious response to the demographics and an improvement in the standard of living, that’s why I ask my friends and members of PASOK to trust me and then the Greek people to trust me as prime minister, so that Greece can change the page. Without having anything to do with the populist divisive past of Mr. Tsipras, nor with the clientelistic elitist present of Mr. Mitsotakis. I will work as a worker, as an ant, for Greece to succeed and to become a normal European society with a serious National Health System and a Public Education that embraces everyone and with all labor rights resolved”.

“Neither with the princes nor with the fugitives – Loverdos deprived us of 2nd place for 2 months”

Then, focusing on why he himself should be re-elected to the presidency, Nikos Androulakis underlined that he had “a course of consistency and not an elevator”, while he did not hide that he was not allowed to complete his term.

“I became president of a party that didn’t even have PASOK’s sun as its symbol, with still unregulated debts. Of course, we could come second in the European elections, but does anyone say that a few months before the Eurocalypse, Andreas Loverdos, our top executive, left PASOK to form his own party, depriving us of second place? The world of the faction has suffered from backstabbing and adventures. Therefore I am neither with the princes, i.e. the barons and the arrogant, nor with the fugitives who left the party in difficult times. I don’t want people like that the next day next to me.”

He repeated that on Sunday the people are not simply electing the president of PASOK, but choosing the style of the next government, pointing out that “the great Center-Left will only become door-to-door”.

Finally, referring to Haris Doukas and Pavlos Geroulanos for the accusations against him about the character assassination system, he said that “all these underestimate our intelligence”, while he stood by the former reminding that he was his own choice for the municipality of Athens, at the same time that many PASOK officials “sounded the alarm” that he was taking a risk.
