Organizational issues on the way to the SYRIZA-PS Congress on November 1-3 were discussed at today’s Political Secretariat of the party, ahead of Saturday’s Central Committee.

It was decided that by October 24th any leadership nomination that has been submitted will be forwarded to the SYRIZA-PS Congress for ratification.

This report also concerns Stefanos Kasselakis, who in the video he posted does not explicitly state that he will be a candidate for leadership.

The pre-conference dialogue officially begins on Monday and the political framework will emerge from the decisions of the Central Committee which will also be the official proposal to the Congress.

In today’s meeting, Kostas Zachariadis raised the issue of his confrontation with Vangelis Antonaros. Mr. Zachariadis requested “either to withdraw or to be referred to the Ethics Committee”. The Political Secretariat has not decided on the impeachment of Mr. Antonaro, however it gives as a direction that similar behaviors are not tolerated, but without reference to specific names. It is considered certain that the issue will also be raised in the Central Committee.

In today’s meeting, organizational issues were also discussed, such as the circular sent to the Member Organizations and it was recommended that they be limited to the reproduction of the party’s official announcements.

Expressing her protest, the member of the three-member committee of the CET Olympia Teligioridoutendered her resignation. However, there was a discussion to take corrective action and avoid it.

The topic of Stefanos Kasselakis’ video was raised by Thanasis Theocharopoulos. In particular, he said:I did not hear an announcement of candidacy from Kasselakis. I heard a call for the Conference. Kasselakis should make it clear. To know whether or not he is perceived by the party as a candidate. In the video made by Kasselakis, he talks again about SYRIZA and the conflict. He had done the same in August in a video against dozens of party officials. This is an insult to the personality of the executives, members and the party itself”.

At the same time, Theodora Tzakri left the meeting of the P.G., as officials of the body questioned the incident she described as having taken place at the Central Organizing Committee of the Conference on Wednesday, where, as she claims, she was taken away from the floor. It had sought clarification on the directive sent to county committees to toe the party line on its official online accounts.
