On his TV and in “Today» with them Dimitris Oikonomou and Akis Pavlopoulos hosted its presidential candidate PASOK, Pavlos Geroulanosjust two days before the party’s internal elections.

Initially, Mr. Geroulanos described the game as still “open”, as it is a “race for three” according to the latest polls, pointing out that “we definitely have a dynamic, since what the people expect from PASOK is constantly being upgraded. We started by looking for a leader of a third party, suddenly we are looking for a leader of the Official Opposition and on Monday he will see if we gave him hope for the political life of the place. The window of opportunity for us is very small.”

As he specifically stated:

“About 1.5 to 2 million PASOK voters are sitting on the couch. They may have gone to SYRIZA or ND for a while, but then they left disappointed and today they are looking to see if PASOK can tell them something again. If we give it to them, these people will rise to make PASOK the government again. But if the next day they see us eating and not giving a government proposal, then they will say “you are not serious, hello”.

“No one is born prime minister, these labels are funny”

Responding to his own proposals for PASOK the following day, Mr. Geroulanos recalled that he has already tabled “Renaissance”, a series of initiatives based on chronic pathologies of the political system, such as great inequalities, bankruptcy, the desolation of region, while he emphasized the need to modernize both the local government, as well as the Chambers and Universities in the country.

“The question is: do we go into next Sunday with the prospect of changing captains with a plan and proper communication? Will those Pasoks who we don’t call come by to help? We also need a leadership team that inspires, the parties can no longer be groups and hope that this way the people will trust us”, adding regarding the collaborations that:

“I am a person who believes in partnerships. Especially in national matters, you can make partnerships and create foundations. Now, how far I can work with a government that has exacerbated the region’s inequalities and desolation will be seen by whether they are ready to change course. No one is born prime minister, these labels are funny.”

“Greece wins when it is multi-level in foreign policy”

Finally, to a question about the Middle East, he underlined that “what I see in the Middle East and Russia is a turn by Mr. Mitsotakis. Since the time of Andreas Papandreou, all governments have adopted a policy that says that Greece, as a factor of stability, fights for peace, stability and international law, always acting as a bridge builder”.

“Lately, however, I see the prime minister taking a tough position and taking a position in favor of one side. We rightly condemned Russia’s revisionism, but we should not stop talking to the Russians. We rightly condemned the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel, but we should not stop speaking to the Arabs and the Palestinians. Greece wins when it is multi-level in foreign policy”, he concluded.
