NATO Secretary -General Mark Rutte spoke of a “truly important” agreement, referring to the agreement he himself announced with US President Donald Trump on Monday.

The leader of the Alliance stressed that Trump contacted him on Thursday and said he wanted to provide Ukraine the equipment he needed, but asked for the Europeans to pay for him, something Rutte described as “perfectly reasonable”.

He added that Donald Trump made a decision that allows Ukraine to continue defending against Russia, noting that the agreement was based on the huge success of the NATO summit, while continuing to show that Europeans were “more actively mobilized”.

The NATO chief stressed that he has come into contact with “many countries” who intend to participate in the agreement, more specifically referring to Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Canada.

“And this is just the first wave, there will be more,” Rutte stressed, noting that NATO will work to “confirm that he knows what Ukrainians really need” “

“This means that Ukraine will be able to get a truly huge number of military equipment, both for air defense and missiles, ammunition,” he added, “he added.

The NATO Secretary -General also criticized Moscow for its attacks on Ukrainian cities, noting that they are not related to its “military targets” but aim to cause panic.

He pointed out that Vladimir Putin should take seriously the warning of Donald Trump, who earlier threatened the Russian president that he had 50 days to proceed with an agreement with Kiev to end the war other than 100%otherwise.

“So if I were Vladimir Putin today, after this announcement, I would review whether I should deal with Ukraine negotiations more seriously than I do right now,” he said.
