It seems that the debate between Nikos Androulakis and Haris Doukas for the second round of PASOK elections is doomed. According to sources from the “camp” of Nikos Androulakis, given today’s (Wednesday) postponed meeting of the Municipal Council of Athens, the suitable days for holding a debate were Thursday or Friday.

“Our staff made an effort to reschedule our big gathering in Thessaloniki, which for days we had chosen to be the curtain call of our pre-election campaign, as no party event had taken place in the first round. Such a thing was not possible,” it is clarified.

“The debate must not reverse the very good impressions left by the previous televised debate between the 6 presidential candidates and be a politically promotional process ensuring the largest possible audience and, by extension, the greatest impact, conditions that are not met on Thursday, either the debate takes place in a low-viewing zone or opposite the football match of the Greek national team,” notes Harilaou Trikoupi.

“The proposal to hold a debate on Saturday or on the day of the internal party elections it is completely pretentiousand it does not contribute to the prestige of the whole process” clarify the sources close to the president of PASOK.
