Turkish officials told the state-run Anadolu agency ahead of the Gerapetritis-Fidan meeting in Athens on November 8 that “Turkey wants to discuss territorial waters, airspace, disputed islands and demilitarization of islands.”

It is reported that the Aegean issues were discussed in 64 rounds of exploratory-consultative talks between the two countries in the period 2002-2022 and some distance was achieved and that no additional progress was made when the Greek side returned to the position that “there is only one difference”.

The authorities state that if no solution is reached as a result of the negotiations, the disputes can be brought to international jurisdiction as a packagebut first Greece must remove the reservations it has placed on the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice”.
