“The role of the ethics committee at this critical juncture for SYRIZA is to be the custodian of the statute. In the difficult days and times ahead of us, this should be supported by the ethics committee, he told SKAI and on the show “Oi Dekatianoi” with Giannis Pittaras and George Grigoriadis the director of the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA – PS Thanos Moraitis, on the occasion of the referral of SYRIZA executives to the ethics committee.

Also, Mr. Moraitis noted that in SYRIZA “a toxic climate has been created, a climate that does not honor us. It has let down our members and base”, stressing that “all those who inspired, organized and implemented a diversion without precedent have a great responsibility”.

“We have a black page in SYRIZA, a black page on the left and in the progressive faction. All those who were inspired by all this, those who want the liquidation and dissolution of SYRIZA, this is not going to pass because they have the party base of SYRIZA against them”, he added

He also estimated that “no one will leave SYRIZA.” SYRIZA – PS, coming out of the Congress and the election of the president, will once again pick up the thread of history, of change. Asked if Stefanos Kasselakis will be a candidate for the presidency of the party, Mr. Moraitis replied that he will be, while regarding a possible postponement of the SYRIZA Congress, he said: “No one will dare to continue the strategies. And those who suggested or wanted the postponement, cannot carry it on their backs against the SYRIZA party base that wants tomorrow morning to finish with all that is happening”
