With the gathering of 7 positive votes o Member of Parliament Michalis HourdakisA representative of the independents was appointed Conference of Presidentsafter the letter that the 14 deputies had received from the presidium of the Parliament, in order to indicate the person who will represent them in the inter-party collective body.

It was preceded by last week’s uproar, with the MP from Pleussi Eleftherias losing the absolute majority of 8 signatures, after the withdrawal of Athena Linou and the Speaker of the Parliament giving the independents a new deadline to decide which MP will represent.

According to information, they voted for Michalis Khourdakis a total of 7 MPs (Papaioannou, Manousos, Dimitrokallis, Valtogiannis, Salmas, Floros and Hourdakis) with – coming from the Spartans – Giannis Dimetrokallis being appointed deputy representative with 5 votes (Hoursdakis, Manousos, Dimetrokallis, Valtogiannis and Floros). The proposal of Pavlos Sarakis did not receive a majority vote, with the deputy supported by 4 independents (Gavgiotakis, Katsivardas, Aspiotis and Sarakis).

In total the Conference of Presidents has 30 members with 15 MPs coming from the government majority and 15 from the opposition.
