Among the key changes proposed by the Ministry of Justice was the amendment of Article 218 on the status of witness protection
In a written statement, the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, speaks of a decision-station of Justice that “takes the hoods off the false witnesses of the Novartis company”.
Specifically, the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, states the following:
“Among the main changes proposed by the Ministry of Justice for the Code of Criminal Procedure and voted in the Hellenic Parliament in February of this year, was the amendment of Article 218 on the status of witness protection and specifically the addition of paragraph 7, which effective from 1 May 2024 and provides that:
“The appropriateness and necessity of the protection measures are constantly examined by the competent prosecutor, who may, at any time, in the event that they have been imposed by his order, modify or revoke them or otherwise recommend their modification or revocation, when, at his discretion, the reasons for their enforcement are varied or disappear”.
The independent Greek Judiciary issued today a landmark decision, removing the “hoods” from the false witnesses of the Novartis conspiracy.
Our democracy is resilient. The truth will shine.”
