“I’m not going to forget that he didn’t let me represent the citizens of Himarra – As an MEP I will fight with more force”
MEP Fredis Beleris will have a series of meetings in Tirana, where the Albania-EU Interparliamentary Liaison Committee is already located.
“We will have a series of meetings in Tirana and another one is on the schedule meeting with Mr. Rama. It is the first time since my conviction and my adventure that I shall meet him, if done the meeting. He can send one of his collaborators,” Fr. told ERT. Beleris.
“Whoever comes and in all the meetings we will have here I will state our positions which are the right her minority of the unionists in self-determination, property, language and education at all levels and all these rights, which are encroached upon by international conventions, Albania has also signed them and unfortunately they have not been respected to date” he noted.
Regarding his possible meeting with Edi Rama he said: “It’s definitely very sad and I I’m not going to forget that with procedures he didn’t let me represent the citizens of Himarra who made me mayor.
I will never forget this, but now, as you know, with the Prime Minister’s move to use me as a candidate and with the trust of the Greek citizens, I am a member of the European Parliament. From this meter, I will fight for the same rights, perhaps with greater force. In what will be my personal adventure of course and I never forget it but you know how it is human nature. When one problem is overcome, we move on to the next one, and for me what matters now is what we will achieve as Hellenism from here on out.”
He emphasized that Greece is as if it has taken a candle and is being led by the European Union.
“Greece is firm in its policy and correctly for the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union. The question is what Albania will do. The ball is now in Albania’s court. If Mr. Rama and the Albanian administration want Europe, our common home has rules and they must be respected,” he noted.
