Today, the members of the Greek Parliament also have their eyes on the result of the American elections, with the victory of Donald Trump monopolizing the discussions inside and outside the Plenary Chamber.
“Relations with the USA will continue to be at an excellent level” announced from the government offices the Deputy Minister of Health Dimitris Vartzopoulos, responding to the objections of the opposition that the government had invested in the victory of Kamala Harris, with Marios Themistokleous congratulating the Republican candidate for his return to the White House.
From the floor of the Parliament, Nikos Pappas emphasized that the Greek diplomacy and government should not “commit to the strategy of the “given ally”, at a time when all the facts and possibilities were open”, underlining that “the government must turn the wheel’ in foreign policy. “It is worrying that the style of populism is returning to power,” noted Dimitris Manzos from the floor of the Parliament with the parliamentary representative of PASOK, stressing that “we must prove that there can be a progressive agenda against those who pretend to be pro-populists.”
Nikos Karathanasopoulos from the KKE responded to those who present Trump as the “new savior”, emphasizing that only the people can save the people.
Dithyramboi from Velopoulos – Natsio
The tone of Kyriakos Velopoulos’ speech from the podium was triumphant, with the president of the Hellenic Solution emphasizing that he had predicted Donald Trump’s victory, arguing that: “ND, SYRIZA and PASOK failed miserably in their predictions when they invested the freudes, as it turned out, their hopes on one side.’ “In the USA, traditional values, homeland, family won and paranoia, political correctness and the woke agenda lost”, was the comment of Dimitris Natsios.
