“Hundreds of elected officials have arrived in Athens from all over the country and we do not know if they will be allowed to enter the conference”, said Ms. Jakri
Executives and parliamentarians who support Stefanos Kasselakis and are members of the KOES went to Koumoundourou to express their protest about the procedures being followed, while the director of Stefanos Kasselakis’ office, Manolis Kapnisakis, also went to the party’s headquarters.
Theodora Tzakri stated that they came as members of the CEEC to be officially informed about the total number of elected congressmen as well as the number of elected congressmen per OM “and they refused to inform us”. “We are six days after the elections and three hours before the start of the accreditations and hundreds of delegates of the largest Prefectural Organizations of the country, such as the First of Athens, half of East Attica, West Athens have not yet received any official announcement that they are delegates. “Hundreds of elected officials have arrived in Athens from all over the country and are still arriving and we still don’t know if they will be allowed to enter the conference despite the fact that they wish to contact Koumoundourou,” he said.
He claimed that “all these strategies that we are experiencing from Saturday until today are happening for one and only reason: because the party bureaucracy has established that the vast majority of delegates are in favor of Stefanos Kasselakis participating in the elections and against his exclusion”. She said that an indisputable element for this is the USB stick which, as she announced, in a few hours she will submit to the congress office and which “includes 1,934 signatures of congressmen who are in favor of the participation of Stefanos Kasselakis in the elections and he the number will exceed 2,000 by the time work officially begins.” Ms. Tzakri said that “the official number of delegates according to the data we have collected from all the O.M. of the country are 3,587 delegates, while the party bureaucracy states that it does not know”. And he added that “any other number of delegates announced is the result of the six-day debate. We will be at the conference, democracy will win.”
For his part, Thanos Moraitis said: “Until today, in the face of these anti-democratic tactics, we were talking about those who organized and implemented this diversion and the black page on the left. In the next few hours we will talk, rest assured, about him and about those who inspired this diversion and are tearing the left apart.”
Olympia Teligioridou stated that “the Left will either be democratic or it will not be the Left” and appealed “for the last time not to exclude a candidate for president and congressmen. On Monday we must all be together.”
“I also came to Koumoundourou as a member of KOES to be informed and they excluded me in a happy way, citing workload, Mrs. Simeonidou. I can’t imagine a Left that excludes members of the CEO and 1,934 signatures of congressmen that talk about not excluding candidates and congressmen”, noted Maria Kaludioti.
