A Greek Political party asked the Greek-American businessman, John Katsimatidis, to nominate him for President of the Republic of Greece.

In particular, a publication of the “New York Post”, states that “the third largest political party of the country of the European Union has asked the Greek-origin supermarket magnate of New York, John Katsimatidis, to be a candidate for president”.

However, the article does not specify which political party the “NY Post” is referring to.

Among other things, the same article mentions that the Greek-American businessman was asked to answer the question during a phone call at 3 in the morning.

“While the owner of 77 WABC radio was flattered, he is more likely to run for mayor of New York, the publication emphasizes.

“I’m American,” he said. “I came here at the age of 6 months,” he added jokingly and emphasized that “I can be the president of Greece, but I can’t be the president of the United States.”

Then, according to the publication, he confirmed that “the third largest political party called me [στην Ελλάδα] who wants to nominate me for president of Greece”. “It’s an honor, but I’m pretty busy in New York,” he commented.

The NY Post reports, among other things, that in an earlier report last month that Republican Party leaders in all five districts said they would choose Katsimatidis as the party’s candidate for mayor in New York.

Mr. Catsimatidis said about the possibility of running for mayor: “I’m digesting it… I want the city of New York to do well… We just want the city to come back.”

“You know what I fear the most? I might win” said Mr. Katsimatidis according to the same publication.
This week, Catsimatidis was invited by Donald Trump to watch the election results at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Greek-American millionaire in SKAI

John Catsimatidis, one of Trump’s most ardent supporters, both financially and in promoting his candidacy spoke to SKAI and Korina Georgiou and explains why the Americans chose Trump and how he sees Greek-American relations after turning the page in the White House.

But the businessman was busy broadcasting from WABC radio until 6 in the morning.
