A day after the conclusion of the episodic emergency conference over the weekend and the scenes that took place, Koumoundourou explains what exactly happened at the conference, “to dispel the shameless lies about the alleged anti-democratic exclusion of congressmen”.

In a statement, SYRIZA – PS states:

“For the FIRST time, the SYRIZA PS Conference Legitimation Committee received a barrage of complaints before the electoral process, but also afterwards so many objections in relation to the electoral processes, the way they were conducted and their exclusion from them.

Indicatively, we cite eleven (11) typical cases of irregularities that were attempted in the election of delegates in Member Organizations (OM), from the dozens received by the Delegates Legalization Committee.

1. The Commission received an election record from an area where no elections were held, with verified signatures of the members of the electoral body, who did not know that the procedure had been conducted.

2. Misleading the electorate: OM members were informed in writing that there would be no elections in certain areas. Nevertheless, the committee received election minutes.

3. In many OMs, people outside the electoral roll, who are not members of SYRIZA-PS, voted in a percentage of more than 10% (probably they had registered on the Kasselakis platform).

4. Candidate delegates who submitted their candidacies in time, validly and in writing, but were ultimately not included in the ballots, were excluded in OM.

5. In OM, without holding general assemblies and giving the opportunity to submit nominations, election committees were appointed and ballots were drawn up between days.

6. They forbade members of SYRIZA-PS to attend the counting process in Organizations that controlled the electoral committee, despite what the circulars stipulated.

7. In an OM without an electoral committee, with only the coordinator present, only 4 members had voted by late afternoon. In the short time left until the closing of the ballot box, more than 100 members came to vote, a percentage of more than 50%, while a check made on the list of voters revealed that a large number were either not members of SYRIZA-PS or belonged to other OMs .

8. Cases were recorded where there was an alphabetical list of voters, that is, it appears that the voters came to vote in absolute alphabetical order, which is impossible to happen and, moreover, without signatures and without payment of the fee.

9. Minutes were sent in which Elected Members are NOT members of the SYRIZA PS and in addition people who were NOT members of the party participated in the vote (in percentages that reached 20%).

10. Elections were held in places that were either not announced, or were held in private places despite the instructions of the Central Organizing Committee of the Conference and the Prefectural Committees to hold elections in the party offices or in public places that were found to be available.

11. Combined cases of the above: It is indicated that in a large Member Organization of Athens, the nomination of a delegate was NOT included in the ballot despite the valid, written declaration of candidacy. A member of the Electoral Committee was NOT a member of the specific Organization. Out of the 5 elected delegates, 3 were NOT members of OM and the other 2 were NOT members of SYRIZA PS. Finally, in the same OM, in the list of voters, more than 10% of non-members of the party were found to be participating in the electoral process.

“Unfortunately, there were also isolated cases of coercion of comrades and comrades to the point of violence against party members when they came to exercise their right to vote.”
