In SYRIZA, he announced that Elena Akrita remains, maintaining the position of head of the State ballot. However, he reiterates that he has serious objections to the way in which the party’s organs functioned in the shadow of the stormy conference of the main opposition party.

“I have repeatedly taken a public position against the independence of MPs. The seats belong to the party. Despite my serious objections to the anti-democratic way in which the party’s organs functioned, I remain the head of the SYRIZA-PS State ballot”, says Ms. Akrita, among other things, and adds:

“I supported the former President of SYRIZA-PS Stefanos Kasselakis from the first moment. My assessment of his face does not change. I wish him the best of luck in his new beginning.”

The statement in detail

“History will judge us”

I have repeatedly taken a public stand against the independence of MPs. The seats belong to the party. Despite my serious objections to the undemocratic way in which the party organs functioned, I remain the head of the State ballot of SYRIZA-PS.

I supported the former President of SYRIZA-PS Stefanos Kasselakis from the first moment. My assessment of his face does not change. I wish him the best of luck in his new beginnings.

I entered politics to offer. The seat was never the lure: I had already offered mine to Stefanos Kasselakis in order for him to enter the Parliament. The goal is – and remains – the militant Opposition in the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
