“We will never circumvent this declaration. The new begins today, with an eye on the future,” said Mr Stefanos Kasselakis in his speech during the presentation of the founding declaration of the new party, which he is currently presenting at the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation.

“The first step is the return of politics to the Republic. Greece today is a typical example of a governance that has distanced itself from democracy, it has not respected the institutions”, added St. Kasselakis.

Referring to the new party, he emphasized: “A party that will be bravely democratic, that will give power to its members, with more transparency and credibility. Here the citizen knows that his voice counts and that whatever the base decides with its vote, it will not be changed later by the top”

“Our party is deeply democratic and progressive. In traditional terms it is centre-left. It is a participatory party, it is the party of the modern centre-left. Only a modern open party can regenerate the centre-left. We are the center-left of the 21st century, which in our country was 24 years late,” he added.

According to information from SKAI, the now-independent member of parliament and his close associate attends the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation Stefanou Kasselakis, Theodora Tzakri. Also, the event venue has been attended by Thanos Moraitis, Evangelos Antonaros, Rallia Christidou, Iota Poulos and the communications consultant Aris Spiliotopoulos.

Absent, however, seems to be MP Kilkis, Petros Pappaswho disagreed with the practices followed recently by Koumoundourou, does not intend, however, to join the new party under Stefanos Kasselakis, nor to his Parliamentary Group.
