The logic with which she approaches Turkey the issues in the Aegean and the visions of Ankara for the future in the region, the Turkish Foreign Minister analyzed in an interview in a Turkish newspaper, Hakan Fidan.

As reported by SKAI’s correspondent in Constantinople, Manolis Kostidis, the head of Turkish diplomacy said: “We prefer to consider TA as a package, all together, including the problems in Aegeanthe issues in the Eastern Mediterranean and the issues concerning the ‘Turkish’ minority. We prefer to consider them all together and, if possible, out of the public eye.”

He added: “We don’t think it’s right to hyper-politicize the issues. However, as you know, especially in the internal politics of Greece, issues related to Turkey can be excessively politicized. We want to move forward with a positive agenda, with a win-win approach. Without affecting our national interests, we aim to resolve the existing problems through official channels and eliminate uncertainties.”

And he continued: “The Aegean Sea, which is a paradise on earth, must be turned into an area of economic prosperity for our countries. This is our goal. Can this be done? It can. When there is the necessary maturity on both sides, I believe that this goal can be achieved through solutions. Our searches and discussions with our Greek interlocutors are already in this direction. Currently, its convening is being planned Supreme Council of Cooperation between our countries in the framework of the visit of Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis to Turkey in January or February”.
