“Turkey insists on its positions and we insist on ours. So at the moment there is room to discuss in greater depth the one difference about the EEZ and the continental shelf, since Turkey wants to discuss other things that we we are not willing to discuss, it means that at the moment no progress has been achieved in this area,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed in an interview after all the material he gave to Alpha TV station.

Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out that if the good climate between himself and the Turkish president as well as the foreign ministers “some interpreted it as tolerance then the mistake is theirs”.

Mr. Mitsotakis referring to the deletion of Mr. Samaras characterizes it as “unpleasant but necessary” saying that it “crossed the line”.

“What was said in this interview went far beyond what had been said in the past and I therefore decided that I had no other choice,” he said, adding: “I cannot allow such theories to be circulated, to accuse me and the Minister of Foreign Affairs that we are supposedly doing secret diplomacy, that we are docile”.

When asked what bothered him the most about Mr. Samara’s words, the prime minister said, among other things: “It was not a little. .Erdogan. Such reports that undermine and accuse me and the foreign minister of betrayal cannot be tolerated can someone instruct the prime minister to fire the foreign minister”.

In response to a question about whether there is a possibility of MPs “maybe close to Mr. Samaras” leaving the ND, Mr. Mitsotakis said: I see no such possibility. We have a strong government with a four-year mandate.”

Referring to Kostas Karamanlis and the opinion he expressed on the deletion of Mr. Samaras, the Prime Minister said that he disagrees. “I consider that in this way I protected both the prestige of the government and the prestige of the faction,” he said.

Mr. Mitsotakis from the Rafale base in Tanagra said that it is the most modern thing the Air Force has today. “It is an aircraft with enormous potential,” said the prime minister, pointing out that our country will also initially purchase 20 F-35 aircraft which have stealth technology and are not detected by radar. Finally, he referred to the salaries of the Armed Forces executives, saying that an effort will be made to increase them in the context of the increase in the salaries of civil servants.
