An extremely serious issue, brought to the Parliament by the President of Plevsis Eleftheria, the deaths in the police stations and in the prisons, the deaths in custody.

With a Current Question to the Minister of Citizen Protection, Zoe Konstantopoulou asked for answers on how many deaths there are in prisons throughout the last period of 2024. What has the Government done to investigate these deaths, to control those who are involved in these deaths and to prevent and prevent new deaths? and about how people are protected in custody during the days of the ND Government.

The reason for Zoe’s question was the two deaths within a few days, of a twenty-one-year-old man in Volos and a twenty-two-year-old woman, who was hanged in Korydallos, in circumstances that remain unexplained and unjustified.

The President of Freedom of Navigation pointed out that the Ombudsman has been activated, who has also drawn up extremely serious observations about the country, which has been repeatedly condemned by the European Court of Human Rights.

In response to the Deputy Minister’s processing answers, Zoe said that neither her own activation, nor society’s interest in the case ends with this Topical Question.

“What we seek is to activate you, so that the unjustified deaths, the mysterious suicides and the unexpected loss of life in custody, under the responsibility of the State, end here today.”
