Her Beirut will visit at noon on Friday o Kyriakos Mitsotakisas the government representative made known in the briefing to the political editors Pavlos Marinakis.

Mitsotakis’ visit to Lebanon sends a message in favor of stability and peace in the region and support for Lebanon in implementing the ceasefire reached on November 26.

“The visit is highly symbolic and important, as Kyriakos Mitsotakis is the first leader of a third country – and a member of the European Union – to visit Beirut after the ceasefire agreement and sends a message of the strong role and presence of Greece in the region”, as informed Mr. Marinakis.

“Greece and Lebanon are linked by traditional ties of friendship. In the discussions that the Prime Minister will have with the Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati and the Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, the Prime Minister is expected to reiterate Greece’s readiness to help strengthen the Lebanese state structures – among them the Armed Forces which play a crucial role role in the implementation of the ceasefire. Kyriakos Mitsotakis will also meet with the Greek community of Lebanon”.

The prime minister, moreover, as announced by the press office, will speak today at 5 pm in the Plenary Session of the Parliament, in the debate on the draft law of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on the minimum wage.
