As the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zaharaki, clarified during her speech in the debate on the budget in the Parliament, the actions of the ministry for 2025 which are financed both from its increased budget and from other sources such as NSRA, TAA.

By the end of 2024, the rate of absorption of funds through the Recovery and Resilience Fund will reach 40%, i.e. 128 million euros compared to 2% last year. At the same time, actions totaling 178.1 million have been included in the NSRF. euros concerning the social integration of our vulnerable fellow citizens.

Also, the minister pointed out that the disability allowance has been increased by 60 million in the budget. euro. A benefit that had already increased from last year by 130 million. euros, now exceeding 1 billion euros, but also the allowance for uninsured seniors by 33 million. euros compared to last year.

Among others, Sofia Zaharaki was mentioned in the National Demographic Action Plan, stressing that more than 100 actions will be implemented, with a budget of 20 billion euros over a period of 10 years, as “economic prosperity is no longer understood without a coherent and targeted demographic policy”.
