The planning for pets was mentioned by the Deputy Minister of Interior, Stelios Petsas, during the discussion of the multi-bill of the Ministry of Interior that is being discussed in the competent parliamentary committee.
From October 2021 we have the invitation of the program “ARGOS”, amounting to 40 million euros, with various actions, from equipment and operating costs, to issues related to the construction of shelters. In fact, we have also proceeded to the Joint Ministerial Decision which provides for the creation of the registers necessary for the implementation of the new institutional framework and follows the joint ministerial decision with the Ministry of Finance for the next expenditures, which will be paid to the municipalities each year. “in order to carry out the mission assigned to them under the new law”, said Mr. Petsas.
The minister informed the committee that an amendment to the “ARGOS” Program may be issued tomorrow as well, so that a sterilization program can proceed with funding of 5 million euros. which will concern in the first phase the stray animals which are under the responsibility of the municipalities. “There has never been so much financial support for such a large sterilization program, which, unfortunately, we all understand how important it is. with the pictures we saw recently at the Sparta Kennel. “Therefore, we are taking steps forward to implement the institutional framework,” said the deputy interior minister.
Mr. Petsas presented the provisions of competence of the Ministry of Interior that have been included in the multi-bill. However, he “stood” in particular in two regulations under the responsibility of the Ministries of Labor and Environment, to emphasize that the government proposes two “historically important” regulations: “It is the article that concerns the national pension of the expatriates. It is really a commitment of the government and the Prime Minister, which finds its way through this legislative initiative, in order to satisfy a just request of our compatriots from Albania and the Soviet Union. The other article is about the rescued fields. It’s really a huge problem. I understand concerns that there may be different wings of the Parliament, but here there are safety valves “, said Stelios Petsas and added that the forested fields” are really a huge problem, which will be solved not only in the Peloponnese, but even in the East Attica for example, where there are many such issues, but also in other areas everywhere in the country. And it is a brave initiative, which gives a solution after many years of suffering and hostage “.
