“The government will soon announce the 11 vulnerable areas of the country that will operate 22 Public Onassis Schoolswith a donation from the foundation,” he said to the minister of education Kyriakos Pierrakakis.

Speaking to Ari Portosalte on Friday morning, he said that 6,000 students will attend them, while resources will be given from the Onassis Foundation for the infrastructure.

Asked about the reactions concerning the International Baccalaureateunderlined that although it has been legislated since 1995, it will be implemented by this government in September 2026 in at least 5 Model and Experimental Schools in the first year.

For schools, he pointed out that the ministry is examining the legal protection of teachers in relation to its responsibilities, such as not being afraid to suspend or when someone threatens him.

Regarding the role of the director, he emphasized that he will be upgraded, he will be able to choose the sub-directors, evaluate his colleagues or have a decisive role in the timetable.
