According to information, the New Democracy candidate for the office, Costas Tasoulas, had lunch with the outgoing President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou a while ago.

Shortly after his resignation from the Presidency of the Parliament and from the position of ND MP, Mr. Tasoulas was seen at the well-known restaurant of Pagratio, Fatsio, where he had lunch with the outgoing President of the Republic.

Their meeting lasted about an hour and a half.

The New Democracy candidate for the highest state office seems to have wanted to meet in person with Mrs. Sakellaropoulou in order to discuss the role of the President of the Republic and the change of baton in the Presidential Palace, putting into practice his words when announcing his resignation about “institutional tact”.

“I discussed it and decided that it is good to resign as Speaker of the House and as a member of parliament, so that the vote for the Speaker of the House can be launched earlier, next Wednesday,” said Mr. Tasoulas earlier, speaking to the parliamentary editors, speaking of necessary institutional tact.
