The morning meeting of the European Council, which began with an exchange of views with the President of the European Parliament, was completed and continued with a discussion on the issue of Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski of Norway where he is currently informed, informed European leaders, via teleconference, about the latest developments on the ground and recent Russian attacks. According to a European official, Zelenski also briefed on his latest contacts with the US government and the US president, as well as the next steps towards a “verifiable” ceasefire and negotiations on a peacekeeping agreement.

After a brief exchange of views with Zelenski, the “27” had a more extensive discussion on the situation in Ukraine and the US -led talks, which lasted two hours.
