The unanimous nature of the decision not to lift the sanctions imposed on Russia, the French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized, among other things, at a press conference after the discussions.

The meeting of the “willing” took place at the Champs -Elysees this morning at the invitation of the French President, in the presence of the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskiwhile Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also participated.

The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the ways of achieving a ceasefire and to decide on who the observer’s role will be assigned (OSCE or UN?) As well as all technical and legal issues. Eventually it was commissioned by Foreign Ministers to deliver within three weeks a specific proposal for an “institutional and practical” surveillance that could then be discussed with the Americans, President Macron explained.

The next day Ukraine must have a strong army

The next stage will be the so -called “security guarantees” as long as it is signed in peace, and how it will be ensured that Ukraine will not be confronted with a new Russian attack. In this area, 31 concluded “that there is still ambiguity in achieving a ceasefire and, above all, the character of US commitments for the next day,” the president explained.

However, the participants at the “Evinous” meeting again unanimously agreed that the “next day” of the peace agreement, Ukraine should have “a strong and well -equipped army”.

So it was decided to entrust the leaders of the General Staff of the Army of France and Great Britain to create a French-British group that would move to Ukraine in the coming days to prepare with the Ukrainians the forms that should have the forms that should have the air, the air and the sea.

US attitude unknown

Regarding the security forces that could be sent to Ukrainian territory, there was no unanimity. It was decided, however, that the security forces, which would send as many states as they wish, will not be placed in any way, on the lines but inside the country at strategic points that will be decided together with the Ukrainians.

Emmanuel Macron, explaining that he was in contact with US President Donald Trump almost daily, with whom he spoke and shortly before the Summit began, reminded that Ukraine has agreed immediately and without conditions in the ceasefire of a 30 -day fire. It is now left in Russia to take a stand on the US proposal for a ceasefire. For the time being, however, “there is no Russian response to the peace proposals,” Emmanuel Macron emphasized.
