The importance of joining forces together with the state, all stakeholders, civil society, children and the private sector, among other things, to create an alliance that will leave a multidimensional footprint in the Greek school, in order to cope with the fast -paced, The 10th Delphi Economic Forum, participating in the panel on “Beyond the Buzzword: Will AI solve the problems of education?”

“All the digital tools of artificial intelligence must be understood as assistants, not as an end in itself, to function auxiliary to the educational process. We need to learn how to learn, “the minister said.

Mrs Zacharakis noted that her predecessor, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, left a legacy, tools that would be implemented and enriched. “The recovery fund, an excellent tool, gives us 4.5 million euros for a driver, with a set of questions, the piece of appreciation of what children want and what this means in how to get knowledge, as well as many tools for teachers,” he said, adding that more than 120,000 teachers have been educated. At the same time, he said that more than 6,800 interactive tables are in schools and the content is developed for them. In fact, he announced that there is intent to include interactive tables in the classes from the 1st to the 4th grade.

He also stood on the part of teachers ‘training, making it known that the IEP develops a tool to diagnose the needs of teachers’ training using artificial intelligence.

The reason for the discussion on the panel was the presentation of the research results conducted by Ipsos in 7 European countries and a sample of 7,000 students aged 12-17, at the initiative of Vodafone. Ipsos-Opinion SA Account Manager/ Statistician, Chrysa Michelakis, presented the results of research and noted that “children have a perception of what is happening and need more tools to use technical intelligence”.

In particular, research has shown that 59% of students have access to technology and thatI 4 in 10 use the chat tool. Although a percentage of 64% uses tools unhindered, they are recorded at lower rates of digital devices and unanimous connection to the network. Also, artificial intelligence is used as a learning assistant for the most part, so that students either do their work, or to learn more, or to learn at their own pace.

Still, 6 out of 10 said they used TN to get information out of school. At the same time, 7 out of 10 believe it will help them to be successful at school.

Subsequently, the Vice President of the Board of Directors and Director of Legal and Regulatory Issues, Corporate Security & Corporate Relations, Maria Skagou, also underlined the importance of state cooperation with the private sector and specialized bodies. Commenting on the results of the research presented, he noted that “Greek students are like the Greek and European society, which does not know how much to admire, how to be impressed and how much to be afraid of what is the application of artificial intelligence. He described the role of stakeholders involved in how this application would be “critical” as to be made in a way, so that no one is left behind and ensure the moral use of TN.

Finally, for his part, CEDEFOP executive director Jürgen Siebel argued that artificial intelligence would have the opportunity to improve education and support digital alphabetism, underlining the importance of upgrading skills and labor. As he said, a 2035 scenario states that 5% of the jobs will be lost in the development of skills. According to him, many millions of people need training to acquire these skills, but at the moment only 15% of workers are involved in education in artificial intelligence.
