“Dear President Zelensky, thank you for your kind words,” Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said in a twitter post, following the Ukrainian president’s reference to the Greek Foreign Minister and his decision to accompany the humanitarian aid mission to Mariupol.
“Greece is fully committed to trying to alleviate the suffering of the people of Mariupol and we will not spare any effort in this endeavor,” added Mr. Dendias.

“I am grateful to the Greek Foreign Minister, who was the first European official to decide to support the work of the humanitarian corridors in Mariupol, in order to save our people in the city and to transfer humanitarian aid, which is very important for everyone there,” he said.
