Supreme Court Public Prosecutor Georgia Adelini is expected to forward today to Justice Minister George Floridis the case file for the tragic railway crash of Tempi.
According to the Ministers’ Liability Act, the case file will be forwarded by the Minister to investigate possible responsibilities of former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Costas Karamanlis and former Minister Christos Spirtzis, due to the incomplete surveillance of RAS and OSE.
Specifically, two defendants, officials of the Ministry of Transport, the Deputy Head of the Directorate -General for Transport and the Head of the Rail Transport Directorate, apologizing for the felony of the transport safety of transport, told the Special Investigator’s Special Investigator. Network due to non -completion of modernization projects and due to lack of staff.
More specifically, the Head of the Rail Transport Directorate testified that he had drawn two information notes in which he reported serious staff shortages and omissions in the maintenance of security systems. The notes were sent in September 2021 to then Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Costas Karamanlis, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport G. Karagiannis and Ministry Secretary General Yiannis Xifaras.
Consequently, due to these two deposits, the case file will be forwarded to Parliament.
