The need for increased funding for water durability was emphasized by ND Eurogroup MEP and spokesman, Dimitris Tsiodrasin his intervention in plenary session European Parliamentheld in Strasbourg.

He emphasized that this funding should be part of a broader “strategy for water durability” that does not remain in words but invests in prevention, innovation and durability.

He stressed that the water problem is even bigger for Mediterranean countries, such as Greece, adding that this imposes a holistic approach and specific solutions.

Mr Tsiodras also referred to the axes that this strategy should include, such as investments to modernize water supply networks to ensure water supply for citizens, agricultural production and industry, better use of technology to prevent and deal with leaks and specific actions to evaluate and evaluate risks, future dangers.
