In France, today, Wednesday, June 4, the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff General Dimitrios Houpe and Chief of General Lieutenant Commander Dimitrios – Eleftherios Curse PN, for the frigate’s racing ceremony Fdi hn “Forms”.
Formion is the third frigate FDI HN – known as Belharra – manufactured by Naval Group for the Greek Navy.
Blocks of the Formal Frigate were built at the Salamis Shipyards and traveled on February 5 at the Naval Group yard in Lorian, France.
There, they were assembled for the next steps in the frigate construction.
It is noted that under the FDI HN Frigates program, Naval Group, as it has underlined in its announcements, is steadily working with the Greek Defense Industry.
In this regard, Greek companies are integrated into the Naval Group’s supply chain and have the opportunity to participate in other programs and future international competitions.
The FDI HN frigate is an 4,500 -ton warship.
It is a multi -mission ship with particular durability and has high level capabilities in all sectors of naval battle: anti -aircraft, anti -submarine and promotion of special forces, with unique possibilities against asymmetric threats.
The frigate is equipped with a range of Thales technological innovations and include radar, sonar and electronic warfare system.
