The decision to determine the amount of penalties that will be imposed in 10 guys For the fire that evolved into a tragedy, the Three -Member Court of Appeal will receive today.
Following yesterday’s ruling on guilt, in which the judges “showed” ten, at their discretion, the guidance of the nightmare experienced by East Attica and the country, today the decision on mitigating is expected.
The procedure will start in the morning with the proposal of the prosecutor Stamatina on the crucial issue of recognition or non -mitigating and to which of ten.
The Court, after being condemned, will announce its ruling which will make a decisive contribution to the next stage of the proceedings concerning the punishment of acts based on the evaluation of judges for the role, managing or inferior involvement, each in the result. The issue of mitigating will affect not only the measurement of penalties but also the question of their delegation or part of them by reasoned ruling of the Court.
Yesterday, after the announcement of the decision, the judges of the ten asked the judges to recognize the lawsuit of lawful life, the non -humble causes, good behavior after the act and the non -reasonable duration of the criminal proceedings that is not due to the defendant’s fault.
It is recalled that guilty for their actions and omissions that contributed to the devastating effect of the hundreds of dead and dozens of injuries were judged by:

In essence, the appellants, in their decision, considered that the main burden of responsibility was carried by the Fire Brigade, namely the leadership and the leaders of the critical services of the House and the three officers found at the site of the fire as head of the field. They also showed a political person who had been selected by the then government for the leadership of the Civil Protection Secretariat: Mr. John Kapaki. The culprits is also the resident of Pentelis, from the courtyard of which the fire began.
All the defendants were found innocent by the aerial means (pilots, air controllers and coordinators), the then EMAK commander and all the defendants from the government.
These are:
Christos Lambri, Christos Drosopoulos, Giorgos Portozoudi, Stefanos Kolokouri, Charalambos Syrogianni, Rena Dourou, Elias Psinaki, Vaios Thanassia, Evangelos Bournous, Antonios Palpatzis and Dimitris Stergiou.
The court was different from the prosecutor’s proposal only to K. Rena Dourou and then Rafina-Pikermi Mayor Evangelos Bournous for whom Mrs Amazis had requested guilt.
