The creation of new school units and standard public leisure areas in the area, as well as the triple junction of Skaramanga were put on the table at the Attica Regional Meeting with Mayor Yiannis Elias.

The planning of important infrastructure projects, which will upgrade the daily lives of Aspropyrgos and western Attica citizens in general, was at the heart of the work of the Regional Governor Nikos Chardalias with Mayor Yiannis Elias, held at the Town Hall.

During the meeting, extensively issues were discussed on the course of the Region’s projects already being implemented in the area, as well as the actions to remove bureaucratic obstacles that delay the execution of necessary projects. Immediately after the meeting, the Regional Governor, accompanied by the Mayor, visited points where the implementation of large projects is planned or launched.

In particular, the Regional Governor visited the site where the construction of the 2nd General High School of Aspropyrgos is planned, a project that has been presenting for more than 20 years, with a budget of around € 11 million. Mr Chardalias stressed that the Region adopted the municipality’s request from the first moment to prioritize the project and had joined the “PPP of Attica” for immediate funding. He noted, in fact, that the regional authority’s willingness to proceed immediately with the signing of the relevant program contract so that the project has been handed over to the school community in the first half of 2028.

Subsequently, the Regional Governor was in the agrarian, an area of ​​35 acres of ownership of the Attica Region, recently granted to the Municipality of Aspropyrgos for the creation of a recreation area. On the initiative and recommendation of Mr Chardalia, the Attica Regional Council has recently approved the expansion of free concession to the Municipality for 49 years. Indeed, the Regional Governor expressed his intention to support the upgrading of the farm in every possible way to provide a truly modern and functional public space to the citizens of Western Attica.

“Every time I visit West Attica, I come to provide solutions to problems of years that, for all of us who come from popular districts, seem self -evident,” Mr Chardalias said, adding: “The balanced development of the municipalities of Attica will not stay in the calendars. We can no longer accept neighborhoods without basic infrastructure. We are here to effectively support all of our fellow citizens who have found nothing in their lives, fighting daily. ”

The regional governor emphasized that upgrading the quality of life in West Attica is a high strategic objective and in this direction a holistic development program of a total budget of € 546.3 million has been developed – the largest program ever approved by the Region, which was presented at the beginning of the region.

Triple Skaramanga Node: “There is no room for another waiting”

There is no room for another waiting. We look forward to the immediate reflexes of the Ministry of Infrastructure and its new leadership. I am able to know that the auctioning of the project has been approved by the Council of Ministers since January and we are now awaiting without any other delay being auctioned in 2025 with resources from the Ministry’s Public Investment Program. “

Asked about the acquisition scenarios of the Attica TV station, owned by the Municipality of Aspropyrgos, from the Attica Region, Mr. Chardalias reiterated that the rumor is completely unsuccessful and does not respond at least to the truth. “Anything that contributes to free expression is extremely important.
