A series of high -level contacts were made by Deputy Foreign Minister Haris Theocharis in Chisinau, Moldova, in the context of enhancing bilateral relations and supporting the country’s European course.

The deputy minister met with Moldovan Finance Minister Victoria Belous, discussing financial developments in the two countries, as well as the possibilities of providing Greek know -how in terms of tax reforms. In particular, the contribution of the Greek Ministry of Finance and the Hellenic Society of Holdings and Property (Hypermalion) was examined, while Mr. Theocharis emphasized the Greek side’s readiness to actively assist in this field.

Of particular importance was the meeting with the two Moldovan prime ministers: the Minister of Finance and Digitization, Doina Nistor, as well as the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea.

The meetings also examined the possibilities of operating Greek businesses in high priority projects for Moldova, especially in the areas of logistics, transport and industrial development.

The journey of Deputy Minister Theocharis was prepared in the following contacts with Moldovan officials at the recent Economist conference, where both the challenges and the opportunities for closer cooperation between the two countries were highlighted.
