In a telegram, the Reuters agency refers to the successful test operation of the first anti-Drone Greek system “Centaurus” and the way the Greek government’s plans to develop domestic industry for mass production of drones.
“In its first test operation with EU patrols in the Red Sea a year ago, the” Centaurus “system identified and rapidly dropped two airline unmanned aircraft launched by Yemen’s Houthi, who launched regular attacks on merchant ships on the busy ship.”
“It is the only-tested anti-Drone system (built) in Europe,” Kyriakos Enatiadis, director of the Greek Aerospace Industry (ODA) sector, told Reuters.
In the next decade, Greece is planning investments of about 800 million euros in defense innovation, Pantelis Tzortzakis, chief executive of the Hellenic Defense Innovation Center (ELKAK), stressed.
“Our goal is to export what we spend on defense annually,” he said.
Zacharias Sarris, co -owner of the Greek company Altus, also expresses his optimism for the Greek defense industry, which is already exporting Isr Drones to five countries.
