Tassos (Anastasios) Isaac was brutally assassinated by Turkish citizens and police on August 11, 1996 in Cyprus, during a rally in the area of the dead zone, in Deryneia, Famagusta province.

Isaac, in his attempt to help another Greek Cypriot, whom the Turks beaten, was attacked and fell into the soil.
