Tassos (Anastasios) Isaac was brutally assassinated by Turkish citizens and police on August 11, 1996 in Cyprus, during a rally in the area of the dead zone, in Deryneia, Famagusta province.
Isaac, in his attempt to help another Greek Cypriot, whom the Turks beaten, was attacked and fell into the soil. A large number of Turks and Turkish Cypriots were gathered around him as well as members of the so -called pseudo -state police and began to beat him repeatedly with stones, bats, crowds, until he was exhaled.
He left his last breath 95 meters from the Greek Cypriot side and 32 from the Turkish Cypriot, according to the Ohe report.
Three days later, the murder of Solomos Solomos followed.

Tasos Isaac’s funeral was panded on August 14th. Tragic figure his wife, who was pregnant with their first child.
After the funeral, his angry cousin of Solomos Solomos, 26, attempted to remove a Turkish flag from a “green line” prison, so that he would also fall dead from a fire that came from the Turkish guard to the occupied territories.
