Stricter penalties, much higher fines for drivers offenders, and strict controls are foreseen by the new road traffic code applied today.
Fines are now starting at € 350 and can reach up to 8,000 euros, and are often accompanied by a license, signs and criminal penalties in cases of serious accidents.
Deputy Minister of Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, stressed on SKAI 100.3 radio that calls from this year are digital and not erased, while checks are made by executives but also from cameras that have begun to be placed.
He emphasized that the information system is upgraded in September and every month will be added new cameras.
Referring to the permanent 24 -hour operation of Lines 2 and 3 of the Metro, the lines of Tram Pikrodafni – Syntagma and Asclepius Voula – Agia Triada as well as 11 bus lines today and every Saturday, Mr. Kyranakis said that on Saturday night.
