“SYRIZA is leaving because the ND put a roll call vote on all 97 articles and does not want its unprecedented contradiction to be highlighted, on the one hand blasting the bill and on the other hand voting en masse for the regulations that are supportive for the workers”, said the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance Niki Kerameos, commenting on the announcement of his parliamentary representative SYRIZA Christos Giannoulis that SYRIZA will not legitimize with his presence the passing of the bill.
Mrs. Kerameos called it “strange” that “SYRIZA has participated in 40 hours of meetings, in 6 meetings over 10 days in the Parliament and now suddenly at the end they say that they will leave” but they are doing so, she said “because the parliamentary debate is coming to an end and the ND has requested a roll call vote for all the articles of the bill to show exactly how many those provisions are which strengthen them workers and will be drawn to vote for them”. This is precisely the problem of SYRIZA, the minister underlined, she does not want “its unprecedented contradiction not to be seen” but added “the result for the citizens is one thing: once again SYRIZA will not vote for all these provisions that grant very important rights to workers!” And for this the citizens judge you!”
SYRIZA’s parliamentary representative Christos Giannoulis, for his part, replied that “from the first moment we requested the withdrawal of the bill. As for the dilemma of whether we would vote or not, that only exists in your own imaginary realm. SYRIZA requested the withdrawal of the bill, you do not accept it, we do not legalize crime”.
