New announcement regarding the government’s legislative regulation for the Unknown Soldier issued today, Monday o SYRIZA accusing her of “falsely invoking respect for the monument of the Unknown Soldier” and recalling the Macedonian rallies in Syntagma Square.

In its announcement, SYRIZA states:

“The government is bringing a legislative regulation to avenge the great victory of Panos Rutsi, to prohibit the parents of the victims from writing the names of their children, who were criminally killed.

He falsely invokes respect for the monument to the Unknown Soldier. We remember how much Mr. Mitsotakis himself respects the monument, we remember the rallies for Macedonian, where ND and Golden Dawn gathered in Syntagma Square and a section of the protesters tried to invade the Parliament, desecrating the monument.

We warn them, we will stand by every citizen who claims something as fair and humane as Panos Routsi in the future.

We warn them, we will be with the parents and the survivors when they rewrite the names of the 57 at this point.

The authoritarianism and arrogance of Mr. Mitsotakis have enraged the whole society. His Trump-inspired legislative initiatives show his arrogance as well as his conservatism.”
